Nine months after suffering a heart discomfort, the Franco-Algerian environment of Lille Nabil Bentaleb will be able to resume competition after the medical commission of the French Football Federation “made a favorable opinion,” announced the northern Ligue 1 club Wednesday evening.
“With regard to the latest medical examinations and results, the Commission has spoken positively and made a favorable opinion for the resumption of the practice of football in the player competition,” the LOSC wrote in a statement.
The club recalls that the 30-year-old had been “victim of a cardiopulmonary arrest in June 2024” in the wake of a successful first season in the North, where he was one of the best players.

The Algerian international has since been equipped with a “defibrillator” according to a source close to the club.
This decision by the FFF medical committee could create case law in France.
