Vuskovic reports on “disturbing” nightmares

Football professional Mario Vuskovic has reported nightmares since his doping lock. “Some of the dreams were disturbing,” he told the magazine “11 friends”. The former defender of the second division club Hamburger SV called that you shouldn’t touch him, “because I thought at the moment: someone injects my stuff in my sleep”.

The Croatian, which is suspended by professional football due to doping with the EPO blood doping agent until November 2026, asserts his innocence. Most recently, the Swiss Federal Supreme Court dismissed the Vuskovic page’s complaint against the decision of the International Sports Court CAS. It had previously increased the sentence from two to four years.

Vuskovic: “I wasn’t myself”

The doping case was known in November 2022. He decreased five kilos in the first week after the test result, the central defender reported to the magazine. “I couldn’t eat anything, nothing,” he said: “I wasn’t myself.”

The case led to the fact that he was “angry” than usual. “It changed everything,” he said: “My perspective on myself, but also on justice and injustice.”

The HSV has been helping Vuskovic since the lock. His teammates and the fans of the Hanseates also support him again and again through expressions of solidarity. The defender and the association have dissolved the professional contract that runs until 2025 in mutual agreement. After the lock, the Croatian should get a new contract with the Hamburgers.
