Mohamed Amoura: From street football to the top player

When the Algerian Mohamed Amoura came to Europe, his game was characterized by street football: carefree, wild, without tactical constraints. In the meantime he has matured the difference between VfL Wolfsburg and an attraction of the league.

Mohamed Amoura grabbed the ball and his trainer immediately knew what that meant. He knew that Amoura would take a rocket -like pace and skillfully carry the ball with them, but a few seconds later everything would be over. Amoura would once again run on this tough left -back from Argentina and bounce off it like a bush. That had happened three times in the previous three minutes, as the coach had observed carefully. And so it went on. Amoura ran on, lost the ball, ran, lost the ball. After five balls in five minutes, the coach had enough. As a precaution, he raged, scolded and let his temperament cool down a little before he gave Amoura aside. “Make calmer, you are not alone here,” he breathed in his player. “If you understand that, you will make the difference.”
