Ligue 1: Stéphanie FRAPPART designated as a referee for OM – Nantes Sunday

Three days after the media outing of President Marseille Pablo Longoria on arbitration, Stéphanie Freppart was appointed this Tuesday by the French Federation to direct the Ligue 1 meeting between Olympique de Marseille and FC Nantes next Sunday at the Vélodrome stadium (8:45 p.m.).

The comments of the president of OM last Saturday after the defeat (3-0) in Auxerre towards arbitration, pronouncing the word “corruption”, aroused a lot of turmoil in the world of football. Pablo Longoria, who then made his mea culpa on Monday – “The form was not appropriate and this word, I regret it” – will be heard by the disciplinary committee this Wednesday and will know its possible sanction, which can go up to 12 weeks, the same evening.

The appointment of the next referee leading an OM match was therefore particularly expected. The FFF decided this Tuesday to appoint Stéphanie Freppart (41 years old) for this meeting of the 24th day of Ligue 1. An experienced referee (fifth season in Ligue 1), having led the Marseille club twelve times (8 OM victories, 3 draws and 1 defeat). The last time was during Toulouse – Marseille, on August 31, 2024, with a success at the key to the Olympians and the expulsion of the Toulousain Frank Magri in the 27th minute.

Stéphanie FRAPPART will be assisted by Mikael BERCHEBRU and Cédric FAVRE. Aurélien Petit will occupy the role of fourth referee while Alexander Castro and Julien Schmitt will be on video.
