Maurizio Bormolini wins the Snowboard World Cup

Maurizio Bormolini is second in the last parallel giant of the season and arithmetically conquers the World Cup. In the second challenge of the stage of Krynica, the final act of the Pgs season, Livignasco surrenders only to the Austrian Andreas Prommerger and after having guaranteed the specialty Cup yesterday, it can also celebrate success in the overall ranking.

Only six cents of a second separated Bormolini from the perfect day: in the decisive shift Prommergger had the better of comeback, but for the blue the seventh podium of the season took shape, the overall seventeenth in individual tests in the career.

Numbers that certify a crazy winter for the thirty -one of the army, capable of climbing on three occasions on the highest step of the podium, with 2 seconds and as many third places. A journey enhanced by the success of the World Cup also: when at the end of the season only the Winterberg slalom is missing, Bormolini leads the general classification with 850 points against 699 of the same Prommerger, while the final ranking of PGS sees Bormolini impose himself with 612 points against the 455 of Bulgarian Yankov and the 398 of Edwin Corati, third. Bormolini’s seventh podium of the season took altitude in the semifinal won against Korean Kim, on a path that saw the blue overcome in the round of 16 the Canadian Ben Heldman and in the quarterfinals Daniele Bagozza. The third place therefore went to Kim himself who in the Small Final had the best of the Bulgarian Tervel Zamfirov.

Five overall, the Azzurri who were able to enter the final stages: in addition to Bagozza (eighth), Mirko Felicetti (fifth) also surrendered in the quarter against Zamfirov, able to overcome Aaron March (11th) in the first round, with Edwin Corati (14th) Out in battery against the Slovenian Tim Mastnak. Out in qualifying instead Gabriel Messner (17th), Roland Fischnaller (19th) and Fabian Lantschner (47th). According to 4 consecutive place for Lucia Dalmasso, capable for the second day to land in the semifinal but then passed first by Tsubaki Miki and then by Ramona Hofmeister in the challenge valid for the lowest step of the podium.

Previously the blue had imposed itself on the two Austrian Martina Ankele in battery and Sabine Payer in the quarterfinals. The victory then went to the Japanese Miki who in the final duel had the best of the Bulgarian Malena Zamfirova. Red traffic light in the eighth instead for Elisa Caffont (Decima), out against Payer herself, and for Jasmin Corati (twelfth) who surrendered to Ukraine Annamari Dance; Unqualified Elisa Fava (22th).

Like Bormolini, Miki securely puts the general world cup with a race in advance in front of the Hofmeister itself and also certifies the success in the specialty ranking, always on the German. In two weeks in Winterberg (Germany) the world cup journey will close: Saturday 15 space for parallel slalom, followed the next day by the mixed team test. Then it will be time of World Cup, in St. Moritz.
