Referee whistles Bavaria against Bayer

Most recently, Michael Oliver was in the focus of the brutal foul on Jean-Philippe Mateta, now the Englishman whistles the German summit in the Champions League. As the European Football Union announced, the 40-year-old referee will head the eight-final first leg between FC Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday (9:00 p.m./DAZN).

Most recently, Oliver in the Fa Cup was used in the game of Crystal Palace against FC Millwall when the former Mainz Mateta was brutally fouled. Millwall goalkeeper Liam Roberts had hit the 27-year-old Frenchman on the side of the head with the tunnels of his left shoe in a failed attempt to rescue. The crack wound on the ear had been sewn with 25 stitches.

Oliver had not even shown the yellow card for the foul for the foul. He only revised his decision after the video evidence was used and sent the goalkeeper from the field with red after he had also looked at the scene on the screen.
