Golf professional McIlroy at the Players Championship: A title like a Prophecy

The final doubt that Rory McIlroy could no longer drive into the parade this time, eliminated JJ Spaun on Monday. The generation of players from the 1980s and 1990s such as Seve Ballesteros, Bernhard Langer or Nick Faldo always got a good degree of respect in the USA- but never the nationwide recognition like Mcilroy today. For the core audience, the Northern Irish is an interesting player than most Americans (with the exception of of course his good friend Tiger Woods), because of his victories like the Players Championship. And because of the prospect of a drama that continues for the time being.

McIlroy now has three weeks to prepare for the Masters in Augusta: He still lacks a victory there for the so-called career grand slam, the victory in all four major tournaments.
