“He loved rugby, it’s terrible”: who was Nicolas Haddad, the 15 -year -old who died after a shock to the head

Nicolas Haddad, 15, died on Tuesday. His body did not resist the consequences of a violent shock in the head suffered last Saturday during a club’s cadet match, RC Toulon, in Bastia (Corsica). He loved rugby, it’s terrible ”.

Nicolas Haddad was a child of Saint-Maximinois XV rugby since childhood. He had been playing since his adolescence with the local agreement between the Saint-Maximin club, Brignoles Provence XV and the Rugby Club Val-d’Isole XV. All while having integrated, in duplicate, the development project of the RC Toulon. Contacted, members of these clubs still say they are deeply “shocked” and “affected”. They want to respect the family’s desire, wishing to “preserve their intimacy”, as indicated in a statement published on Tuesday.

On social networks, tributes have been multiplying since Tuesday, like the words of Senator Michel Bonnus, elected in the Var, “deeply shocked by the tragedy that affects Varian rugby”. The Toulon leader Patrice Blachère wants him that the young man’s photo will be broadcast on the giant screens of the Felix-Mayol stadium this Saturday during the Top 14 match between Toulon and Perpignan (9:05 p.m.).
