When the semi-finals in the DFB Cup between Hamburger SV and Werder Bremen takes place on Sunday, the backdrop will be as large as with no game in the German club football of women: 57,000 spectators will come into the sold-out folk park stadium. For HSV board member Eric Huwer and Werder managing director Klaus Filbry, the interest in the northern derby shows the potential of women’s football.
