Conor McGregor announces candidacy for the presidency of Ireland

In an official note, McGregor points out that the main reason for his candidacy is the Migration Pact of the European Union. The athlete is against the project, which provides to manage migration and establish an asylum system among the bloc countries. The pact has been suffering harsh criticism.

Without fighting since 2021, when he broke his leg in the duel with Dustin Poirier. Since then, McGregor has been confirmed in a confrontation with the American Michael Chandler last year, but again injured and was cut.

Ireland must fully implement the EU migration pact by June 12, 2026.

Then, between June and 12 June 2026, several pieces of legislation must be approved by both homes of Oireachtas and signed by the president.

The next presidential election should take place by November 11, 2025

Who else will face the government and oppose this bill?

Any other presidential candidate they try to present will not offer them resistance.
