Türkiye, Georgia and Bulgaria, rivals of Spain in the classification for the 2026 World Cup

The Spanish male soccer team will be measured to Turkey, Georgia and Bulgaria in the classification phase for the 2026 World Cup, a path that was drawn after advancing this Sunday to the ‘Final Four’ of the Nations League.

Win or not to the Netherlands in the quarterfinals was a road or another for those of Luis de la Fuente. The triumph in the penalties in Mestalla and the pass to the semifinals put Spain in one of the groups with four selections, the E Group, with the first one direct to the World Cup and a repesca option that has assured the ‘Red’.

The current champion of Europe and the League of Nations will debut on this way to the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico against Bulgaria, at home, on September 4. The Bulgarian team is a priori the most affordable of a group where Turkey, with Arda Güler, Hakan Calhanoglu or Kenan Yildiz, and Georgia, with Giorgi Mamardashvili, Khvicha Kvarathskhelia and Georges Mikautadze, have higher quality players. Then, in that same ‘window’, he will also visit the Turks 7, and then play two games at home against Georgia (11) and Bulgaria (14) to close in November with the visit to the Georgians (15) and the reception to Türkiye (18).
