The longer this season lasts, the more impressive the form of Loic Meillard. Since his two gold medals at the World Cup in Saalbach-Hinterglemm (slalom, team combination), the Swiss has been the dominant runner.
Even with the last Giant slalom in Sun Valley (USA) Meillard gave the tone again. The 28-year-old drove in his own league and won in front of his compatriot Marco Odermatt, who was already the winner of the small crystal ball before the race.
The giant slide season took a conciliatory end for the Austrians. Stefan Brennsteiner landed in the fifth place. Immediately behind it became Marco Schwarz’s sixth. The Carinthian marked the best time in the second round.
