While the last slalom of the season takes place this Thursday in Sun Valley (United States), an individual crossed the track in the middle of the race. The German skier Linus Strasser was surprised on the route by the passage of a straightener. Fortunately, an incident without consequences …
The German narrowly avoided the straightener, which appeared right in front of him while he slalomed. The skier finally continued his race as if nothing had happened, even if he surely felt a big a posteriori fear. This did not prevent him from taking seventh place in the Channel.
The Frenchman Clément Noël took 2nd place just 10 hundredths from the Norwegian leader Timon Haugan. Christmas is closely followed by another Norwegian, Henrik Kristoffersen (at 0 ″ 14 from Haugan), at the top of the specialty and favorite classification to win a 4th little slalom globe.
The Swiss world champion Loïc Meillard, second in the ranking on the season, struggled in the first round with the 8th time at 1 ″ 68. Christmas can still claim the globe, but for that he must impose himself, that Meillard does not do better than 3rd and especially that Kristoffersen does not do better than 16th. Steven Amiez took 9th place at 1 ″ 77, Victor Muffat-Jeandet the 11th to 2 ″ 00 and Paco Rassat the 20th to 2 ″ 75.
The second round will take place at 8 p.m. French time.
