Skiing|The coaching team for the women’s national team is renewed.
Finnish Women’s Ski Team Responsible Coach Ville Maunuksela will not continue in his job.
Maunuksela confirmed the matter to Sanoma on Friday. He had been announced last weekend.
“It was the decision of the union’s leadership. I understand their solution. I myself am not pleased with how the women’s national team worked during the last training season,” Maunuksela comments.
Maunuksela’s fixed -term agreement with the Ski Association ended at the end of March, but he would have been willing to continue in his wash.
“The contracts of the year have gone here, and now it has not been continued.”
Ville Maunuksela had two years in his job.
The Finnish female skiers were left without medals at the Trondheim World Championships in February-March, and the unclear situation of the women’s national team has been a lot of excitement in the sport circles.
In the last training season, the national team cooperation was very limited. Even separate training groups were established inside the team, and only individual skiers were bothered to be in common camps.
“I do not just put the training session patterns on the peak of the economy, even though it influenced our operations. I could have done things better myself,” says Maunuksela.
Many national teams have said that they need a closer national team and developing joint training.
According to Maunuksela, the women’s ski team activities are going to be completely new for the Olympic season.
“We try to make the action better than what it has been this decade. Let’s start building a new model and approach.”
Maunuksela Started as a women’s team responsible two years ago. Prior to that, he worked as a cross-country ski coach at the Vuokatti-Ruka Sports Academy and coach for the youth national team.
Maunuksela, 35, who lives in Vuokatti, is a sports instructor specializing in sports coaching.
