Heavy setback for Bayern: Topstar fails for a long time

The German football record champion Bayern Munich has to do without young star Jamal Musiala for several weeks in the end of the season. The 22-year-old offensive player suffered a muscle bundle tear in the left rear thigh on Friday in the 3-1 league victory in Augsburg. The Bavarians announced this on Saturday after investigations by the medical department.

The season could end early for Musiala. The possibly most important player in the Bayern offensive missed the quarter-final games of the Champions League against Inter Milan due to the injury. However, it should fail until well into May.

When Musiala could return to the square, Bayern left open. The TV station Sky reported a downtime of around eight weeks. This would also become scarce with a possible CL final in their own stadium, according to the Bavarians.
