Felipe Drugovich will replace Fernando Alonso in Los Libres 1 de Baréin

The Brazilian Felipe Drugovich, test pilot and reserve of the Aston Martin Aramco team, will run in the place of Spanish Fernando Alonso during the first free training session of the Baréin Grand Prix, fourth appointment of the World Championship of Formula 1 and that will be played from April 11 to 13.

At the wheel of the AMR25, Drugovich will participate in that 60 -minute session “collecting crucial data and perspectives to support the preparation of the team” facing the race weekend and “providing” the Brazilian driver “a valuable track time,” as the Aston Martin team indicated on Tuesday.

“The session will contribute to the total mileage of Felipe in the F1, which currently exceeds 9,100 km. Felipe knows well the 5,412 km circuit, having previously replaced Lance Stroll, injured, during the 2023 preseason tests in the same circuit,” said Aston Martin in his press release.

Thus, Drugovich valued this opportunity as a provisional substitute for the Asturian in Libres 1 on Sakhir’s sphalto. “I am very happy to get back into the F1 car, especially at this point in the season,” he told the official media of his team.

“I have been preparing in the simulator to familiarize myself with the car, and Baréin is a circuit that I know well and I enjoy driving. I am excited to contribute and provide the team with the data they need to perform to the fullest this weekend. Thanks to the whole team for their continuous support,” Drugovich added.

Andy Cowell, Executive Director of Aston Martin, also analyzed this plan in Los Libres 1 Bareinís: “We are pleased A great job in the FP1 and will contribute to our preparation for the race weekend. ”
