Morbidelli heads a calm practice in Qatar

The Italian Franco Morbidelli (Ducati) has been this Friday the best pilot of the practice of the Catar Grand Prix, a fourth stop of the Motorcycling World Championship, marked by the discreet return of the Spanish Jorge Martín (Aprilia) to the ‘Paddock’ of MotoGP, after having surpassed-at least part-his pre-season injury.

‘Martinator’ was the focus of attention to the International Lasail circuit, but the brothers Marc and Álex Márquez have started the World Cup as protagonists and embodied it in this practice from well soon. The largest of them led the first half hour, thanks to a time of 1: 51,810 that surpassed at 0.160 for the best record made by Álex.

However, the youngest of the Márquez made 1: 51,704 before the yellow flag is seen due to a fall of the Madrid Augusto Fernández (Yamaha) when he traced the curve nº4, having lost control of his motorcycle in the front for a mishap without physical consequences.

Everything remained without more scares until the so -called ‘Time Attack’, the last quarter of the hour planned on the track. The also Italian ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia (Ducati) was the first to get out of 1:51, specifically making a mark of 1: 50,975 in his plan to wear middle middle rubber.

With that same tire strategy, Marc Márquez approached 0.022 in the table, although Morbidelli then corroborated the domain of the Ducati. Not surprisingly, the one of the enduro VR46 achieved a time of 1: 50,830 and that nobody exceeded, according to some last bars where the Australian Jack Miller (Yamaha) suffered a little device fall.

With the clock to zero, but being still in process, the Frenchman Johann Zarco (Honda) grabbed the last site of the ‘top 10’ that gets directly into the Sabatina Q2. That left out ‘In Extremis’ to Álex Rins (Yamaha), who must run the Q1 with his compatriots Joan Mir (Honda), Raúl Fernández (Aprilia) and Augusto Fernández; And with them will also be the Spanish Jorge Martín, in search of positivity.
