The 2025 FPF Cup already has three semifinalists defined after a weekend of strong emotions and remarkable upsets. Cianorte, Rio Branco and Azuriz guaranteed a place among the four best in the state competition, while the last semifinal will be announced next Wednesday (29), in the Atletiba classic, which will be in Vila Capanema.
The first to stamp the passport was the Cianorte which despite being defeated 2-1 by Foz do Iguaçu last Saturday (25), advanced thanks to the 3-1 victory obtained in the first game, away from home. The “Leão do Vale” knew how to manage the advantage built and confirmed the classification in front of their fans. Now, the team will face the Rio Branco that semifinal.
Leão da Estradinha staged one of the biggest comebacks of the stage. After losing the first match to Batel, in Guarapuava, 2-0, the team from Paranaguá scored a 5-0 defeat in the return game, this Sunday (26), at Estádio Gigante do Itiberê. With the result, Rio Branco remains firmly in the competition.
In the other semi-final, the azure secured their classification after drawing 1-1 with Nacional, in Pato Branco. As they had won the first duel 2-1, in Campo Mourão, Pato Branco’s team qualified with authority and now awaits the winner of the clash between Athletico and Coritiba.
The last semi-finalist will be announced on Wednesday (29), at 3 pm, in Vila Capanema. In the first duel, played at Couto Pereira, Coxa and Furacão were held to a goalless drawleaving everything open for the decisive game.
