The Swiss Moto3 rider Noah Dettwiler, of the CIP Green Power team, remains in a “stable but critical” condition after having undergone several surgeries in recent hours, as reported by his team this Monday after the serious accident suffered on Sunday during the formation lap of the Moto3 race of the Malaysian Grand Prix.
“The pilot has undergone several operations in the last few hours, which have gone well. According to the doctors, his condition is stable but still critical,” the team reported in an official note, in which it thanked the support received and asked for respect for the privacy of the pilot and his family.
Dettwiler, just 20 years old, suffered a strong impact at the Sepang circuit when he was hit by the Spanish and current Moto3 champion, José Antonio Rueda, when both were on the lap prior to the start.
The Swiss was immediately transferred to a hospital in Kuala Lumpur, where he remains in the intensive care unit.
The CIP Green Power team, together with the Dettwiler family and the former Swiss driver and team director, Thomas Lüthi, have reiterated their gratitude for “the incredible support and messages” received from the paddock and the World Cup environment.
