First bench change of the current season
The dismissal is the first change on the bench of the season and comes after the eighth matchday. The three defeats in a row between the championship and the Champions League (Como, Real Madrid and Lazio) were fatal for the Croatian coach, but above all a lack of victories that has lasted for a month and a half, given that the Bianconeri’s last success dates back to 13 September (4-3 against Inter). The team now has 12 points in the league – seventh together with Atalanta and Udinese – and only 2 in the Champions League group after the first three matches. Last season there were a total of 9 changes on the bench in Serie A, the first of which after just 4 days with Roma who decided to sack Daniele De Rossi by hiring Ivan Juric.
