After the medical emergency at FSV Mainz 05’s Bundesliga appearance in Stuttgart, the club has given the all-clear. The Mainz fan who had to be resuscitated last Sunday is “on the mend,” said the first division club.
During Mainz’s game at VfB Stuttgart, the football fan was treated and resuscitated by paramedics for more than 20 minutes. Meanwhile, the game continued and both camps temporarily stopped supporting. After the final whistle, Mainz sports director Niko Bungert declared that the supporter’s life was no longer in danger.
VfB won the game 2-1. The Swabians were also successful in Mainz on Wednesday and moved into the round of 16 of the DFB Cup with a 2-0 win.
