Federica Brignone will return to skis “not before mid-November”. AGI learned this this morning from his entourage. For Brignone, 35 years old, nicknamed ‘the tiger’ of La Salle, it is a difficult race against time, a challenge bordering on the ‘impossible’, to try to compete in the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.
The World Cup has already started, without Fede who on 3 April suffered a displaced multi-fragmentary fracture of the tibial plateau and the head of the fibula in his left leg when he fell in the second heat of the giant slalom of the Assoluti in Val di Fassa.
Having surgically reduced the fracture, Federica is undergoing rehabilitation at the ‘J Medical’ in Turin where a few days ago she met Marta Bassino, who also injured her leg and is already certain that she will not be able to compete in the Olympic season. Brignone was awarded ‘Athlete of the Year’ by the Italian Winter Sports Federation.
