Tornike Shengelia, named MVP of matchday 8 in the Euroleague

Georgian player Tornike Shengelia, Barça power forward, has been named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the eighth round in the regular phase of the Euroleague, having led his team to a 76-78 victory against Partizan Belgrade with a rating of 42, the best of his career.

“Shengelia scored 24 points with 4 of 5 on two-point shots, 2 of 3 on three-pointers and 10 of 12 on free throws. In addition, she had 5 rebounds, 5 assists and a personal record of 4 steals, without committing turnovers and causing 9 fouls. This is the ninth MVP of the Matchday in Shengelia’s career and the first in almost two years,” Euroleague Basketball summarized this Saturday in an official statement.

That press release also highlighted that the Italian Matteo Spagnolo, Baskonia’s point guard, had posted a statistic with 19 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds and a rating of 28 credits, leading the Vitorian team to the 86-75 victory over Anadolu Efes.
