Hockey|The Finn’s goal caught the SHL commentator off guard.
Örebro Finnish hockey forward Sampo Beach25, struck great goal in the Swedish ice hockey league SHL.
A strong Finnish contribution fluttered around the hit, because the situation started when Örebro’s defender Peetro Seppälä played the puck from the blue line to the end behind the goal of HV71.
Ranta was the first Finnish defender to win the duel by Axel Rindell and then hit the puck in the air from the front corner of his countryman Lassi Lehtinen behind.
“Hello! What goal is this? Sampo Ranta makes an impossible shot. Sampo Ranta and his Finnish stick,” the TV4 commentator shouts excitedly.
“Now look at Sampo Ranta. That’s where he puts it. It’s a variation of the zorroveiv, more beautiful than anything else.”
In Sweden, air knives are often referred to as zorro knives or zorro variants. Swedish newspaper The evening paper described Ranna’s reaction to his goal as surprised.
The 5-1 hit that crowned Örebro’s away victory was Ranna’s second of the night and of the entire season. He also completed Örebro’s 2–1 victory.
