Biathlon: Sonja Leinamo’s giant surprise made headlines around the world – “A huge sensation!”

Biathlon skier Sonja Leinamon the surprising second place in the Östersund World Cup competition shook sports people all over Europe.

Leinamo finished second in the normal distance of 15 kilometers and lost the winner Dorothea Wiererille in just 0.3 seconds.

Previously, Leinamo’s best World Cup finish in his career was eighth, so the surprise of a relatively unknown Finn raised eyebrows in the media.
