Football|Petteri Pennanen and KuPS signed a two-year contract.
The betting league KuPS, who won the championship last season, announced on Monday that they had signed an extension contract Petteri Pennanen with.
The team told about the contract on their website.
With the new contract, team captain Pennanen will continue in Kuopio for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
“Pennanen has been one of the key figures of the KuPS championship team this season as well. The midfield leader, captain and dressing room trendsetter has been one of the most respected players in the Veikkausliiga year after year,” the team’s press release says.
Pennanen also says that he is very pleased with the extension contract.
“We basically finished everything in the fall, but at that point I wanted to stop for a while and think in peace. Now that the season is coming to an end, the decision was meant to be made – and no other option crossed my mind,” the captain opens his thoughts.
“My body still feels excellent and my mind is relatively young, so in the end it was an easy decision to continue. It’s great that I can continue in Kuopio Palloseura.”
in Kuopio the born midfielder scored seven goals and three assists in 31 matches last season in a KuPS shirt.
Pennanen, who returned to Kuopio for the 2024 season, has represented TPS, RoPS and Ilves in the Veikkausliiga in addition to KuPS.
