Ice hockey veteran Constantin Braun has to end his season early due to a serious and unfortunate injury.
The defender of the Nuremberg Ice Tigers had his Achilles tendon in his left leg accidentally cut by an opposing player’s blade during the game against the Kölner Haien.
The serious accident occurred last Friday, as the Franks announced. The former national player is scheduled to undergo surgery this Thursday.
For the former Eisbären professional, who became champion five times with the Berliners, the injury is particularly bitter because the 37-year-old had just made his comeback in the game against Cologne after a break of several weeks due to a foot injury. (dpa)
