“I think that the fundamental thing is to never give up. I believe that in life there are many phases and then there come the moments in which you have to make decisions. The important thing is to never give up on what your goal is, on what your dreams are. So this is fundamental.” Sprinter and Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs said this on the sidelines of an appointment in Milan, answering a question about his future. “This is a reflective phase, the most important phase, the one in which perhaps you have the least motivation of all and in which you just have to try to make that shot, mostly to the head, to make sure you start this journey again.”

“We were never able to find a way to move forward in the same direction. There were a series of situations that didn’t go well on one side and the other and I felt a bit left on the sidelines. This hurt me a bit.” Thus Marcell Jacobs, sprinter and Olympic champion, returning to the latest statements released to the press in which he recounted his last period, the indecision about the future and the relationship with the federation. “I’ve had many difficult periods, but they are part of life, it’s right that they exist.
