No banner or megaphone… After the incidents in Le Havre, Paris FC sanctions its Ultras

After the fight between its two ultra groups, the Old Clan and the Ultras Lutetia, on Sunday in the visitor’s park before the match at Le Havre (0-0), the leaders of Paris FC announced that they wanted to react quickly. The leaders of the two groups were summoned this Wednesday by the club management and they were sharply slapped on the wrist.

If some gray areas remain – on videos we see a steward giving the Old Clan tarpaulin to an Ultra Lutetia who then burned it – and an investigation is underway to establish individual sanctions (stadium bans), Paris FC has already taken the first measures, symbolic but radical.

Saturday against Toulouse (9:05 p.m.), there should not be much noise emanating from the two kops at the Jean-Bouin stadium. If the team, 14th in Ligue 1, really needs the encouragement of its supporters, the two groups of Ultras will not be able to express themselves. Although they will be able to come to the stadium, the Ultras Lutetia (UL), 950 members, are prohibited from putting up their tarpaulins and banners and are deprived of their entire installation (dais, megaphone, etc.).

The Old Clan announces its dormancy

As for the Old Clan (OC), 250 members, they took a strong measure by going into “sleep until further notice”.

“Given the nature of the incidents that occurred last Sunday, December 7 at the Océane stadium and in accordance with the values and principles of the ultra movement, the Old Clan officially announces its dormancy until further notice,” announced the Old Clan office this Thursday morning in a press release.

The incidents in Le Havre, which constituted a certain escalation in the conflict which had lasted for several years between the OC and the UL, will leave their mark and have undoubtedly marked a turning point in the history of the ultra movement at Paris FC.
