Alpine skiing: Lindsey Vonn, 41, in great shape! Second place after victory

Alpine skiing a living legend Lindsey Vonn continue to break boundaries. The 41-year-old skier finished second in the St. Moritz Skiing World Cup competition on Saturday.

American Vonn’s weekend has been amazing. He won Friday’s downhill by almost a second. At the same time, he became the oldest Alpine Skiing World Cup race winner.

On Saturday Germany’s Emma Aicher foiled Vonn’s winning bids by beating Vonn by 0.24 seconds. Vonn explained that the loss was due to a mistake in the landing of the jump.

“I’m a little tired from yesterday, it was an emotional day. I think the start went pretty well. The rest didn’t go as I would have liked,” Vonn said by Yahoo Sports after the race.

Vonn made her World Cup debut in November 2000, three years before Aicher was born.

Italian Sofia Goggia placed third. Finland Rosa Pohjolainen was 43.

Vonn also made history on Saturday, although she didn’t win. The competition was her 410th in the World Cup, and at the same time Vonn passed the previous number one woman Renate Götschlin.

Vonn returned to the sport last year after a break of almost six years. His goal is the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics in a couple of months.

Vonn has won no fewer than 12 World Cup competitions on the slopes of Cortina D’Ampezzo during her career.
