Almost all tickets for German games are gone

Germany’s handball players can already look forward to full halls at the home World Cup. Within 24 hours of the start of free ticket sales on Monday, over 100,000 tickets for the finals from January 13th to 31st, 2027 were sold, the German Handball Association announced.

“The start of ticket sales has exceeded our expectations and shows how great the anticipation is for the home World Cup,” said DHB CEO Mark Schober. The response was “extremely pleasing”.

Five out of six DHB games at full capacity

The German team’s games are particularly popular. All three preliminary round games of the DHB selection in Munich and two of three main round matches in Cologne are currently at full capacity. Only hospitality offers are currently still available for these match days.

Otherwise, fans won’t have another opportunity to purchase tickets for the Olympic silver medalist’s performances until next summer after the group draw. Additional quotas will then be released for the participating teams and unused returns will be offered for sale.

There are still plenty of tickets available for the match days in Munich and Cologne without German participation, as well as the games in the other tournament locations Kiel, Magdeburg, Stuttgart and Hanover.
