One more! Coritiba renews goalkeeper Gabriel Leite for Series A

Coritiba renewed the goalkeeper’s contract Gabriel Leite aged 37, until the end of 2026. Previously the contract ended at the end of this year. The announcement was made on Tuesday afternoon (16).

This will be the first time that the player will compete in Series A. Throughout his professional career, Leite has played in all national divisions, such as Series D, C and B, but has never played in the elite of Brazilian football. Internally, the number 87 is seen as a leader in the locker room.

In addition to his experience on the field, the athlete plays an important role in the squad’s daily life, helping the club’s young group of goalkeepers, formed by Pedro Morisco and Benassi, aged 21, and Pedro Rangel, aged 24, and working together with goalkeeper trainer Thiago Mehl and assistant Rafael Militão.

Gabriel Leite arrived at Coritiba in 2024, but his debut for the club only occurred in 2025, when he played two matches in the Campeonato Paranaense, against Londrina and Maringá. After his first victory with the alviverde shirt, the goalkeeper was emotional at the end of the match.

Close to completing 17 years of his professional career, Gabriel has played for clubs in the state, such as Operário, Paraná Club and São Joseense, in addition to 298 games.

Renewals and hiring in Coritiba

In addition to Gabriel Leite, other important players from the 2025 Series B title campaign should also remain at the club. The midfielder Joshua and the defender Maicon are in the process of defining their futures.

In the case of Josué, although the current contract runs until December 2025, an automatic renewal clause is already foreseen. Even so, the club and athlete maintain conversations to align the details of continuity.

Defender Maicon belongs to Vasco da Gama and has a contract until the end of 2025 with the club. The player is also discussing details to sign permanently with Coritiba.

Thinking about the Series A dispute, Coxa is also moving in the market. With the arrival of coach Fernando Seabra, the club announced the signing of striker Pedro Rocha, top scorer in Series B in 2025, midfielder William Oliveira, ex-Vitória, in addition to the renewal of Wallisson, who signed a contract until 2028. The club’s return is scheduled for December 27th, at CT da Graciosa.
