Czech coach opens up about possible return

The name of Czech emerges among fans as the ideal person to command the Paraná Club in the Second Division of the Paraná Championship. However, the Paranista board remains focused on the progress of the sale of Sociedade Anônima do Futebol (SAF).

Therefore, Tcheco reinforced that Tricolor needs, before any sporting definition, to clarify its institutional future and hire a football director and only then think about choosing a coach. “Paraná has not yet resolved its own situation and does not have someone responsible to arrive and talk to a coach. The club first needs to survive, with or without SAF. If it is with SAF, there will be a group that will manage these responsibilities. If it is without SAF, it will probably be other people who will manage”, said the coach in an interview with TMC radio.

“I hope that Paraná resolves this SAF issue or not. The championship will start earlier, and the club needs to organize itself accordingly”, he added.

Tcheco also highlighted the difficulty that Paraná Clube will have in assembling the squad. With the change in the calendar, the Second Division of the Paraná Championship starts in the last week of February, while the elite of the State Championship will still be ongoing. “Before, several players became available after Serie A. Not now. You end up taking more ‘scraps’ to put together teams”, he commented.

An idol as a player, Tcheco experienced one of his main moments as a coach at Paraná Clube. In 2024, he led the title campaign of the Second Division of the Paraná Championship, which had the support of more than 100 thousand fans throughout the competition.

Despite the success, the board chose to change the technical command at the beginning of 2025 and hired Argel Fuchs. After just five rounds, Tricolor changed coaches again and called Tcheco with the mission of avoiding relegation. With problems in the squad’s physical preparation, the coach was unable to prevent the fall in the State.

“We talked about continuity and I left the decision in their hands. It wasn’t a question of money, for me, the most important thing is the purpose and the challenge. With the change of direction, they had another idea. For me, everything is fine. It was their decision”, he explained.

“I had the prospect of continuing, but I ended up not staying. I completely understand that it is a professional and choice issue. Within work, things didn’t happen. I only had two weeks to work, with games on Sunday and Wednesday. Paraná faced a very serious problem with physical preparation, and the team was no longer able to perform for ten minutes in the second half. We needed to play in a more reactive way, something I don’t really like, and the players no longer had that strength”, lamented Tcheco.
