Vasil Ringov, former striker of Dinamo and one of the best Macedonian players, passed away

Legendary Macedonian football player Basil Ringov he died after a short and serious illness at the age of 70, announced the Macedonian Football Association.

Ringov was one of the biggest names in the history of Macedonian football, and he left his deepest and most recognizable mark while playing for Vardar.

He played for the Skopje club on two occasions (1977-83, 1983-87), scoring more than 200 games and scoring 93 goals.

During his career he also played for Zagrebčki Dinamo. He arrived as a big reinforcement from Vardarbut he only stayed in the blue jersey for six months, scoring three goals in 12 appearances.

“Today, we are not only asking for a person, but for time and dignity. There are people who do not leave. They just take a step back, to observe us from silence. Vasil Ringov was one of them. Quiet, upright, himself. Football for him was not a stage, but more of a responsibility. He did not say much, but when he spoke, it had weight. When he worked, he left trace. Today, the memory of a man who believed that action is more important than words, and sincerity is stronger than any result,” announced the Macedonian Association.

During his career he also played for Teteks and Eintracht Braunschweig.
