JoKP, which aspires to the SM league, acquired Kasimir Kaskisuo

Kaskisuo moves to JoKP from the United States from the ECHL team Utah Grizzlies. He signed with the Grizzlies in early December.

Jokers grew up played two II-division matches as a junior with Bewe’s goal, but otherwise he has played his entire adult career abroad.

Kaskisuo, one of the Jokers’ juniors, moved to the United States to play junior and university hockey.

In the years 2016–21, he was first a contract player with the Toronto Maple Leafs and finally with the Nashville Predators, but played only one NHL game in the shirt of both clubs.

Most of the time was spent in farm teams. Seasons 2021–23 Kaskisuo played in Sweden with Leksand’s goal.

After that, he returned to North America, where he has played in the AHL and ECHL leagues.

Pike-Boys is currently third in Mestis, three points away from league leader Jokers.

The series system of the SM League will be renewed for next season, and last season’s champion Jokers and this season’s winner will have the opportunity to play in the league next fall.

The loser of the Mesti finals also has the opportunity to apply for a league place if the Jokerit wins the championship this season as well.

JoKP has expressed its desire to move up to the SM league, if its sporting success entitles it to apply for a place.
