PSG: an (almost) complete group expected to resume training this Tuesday

At PSG, rest is a rather rare commodity. After a short vacation taken in the wake of the victory in the round of 32 of the Coupe de France, on December 20, against Vendée Fontenay (4-0), Luis Enrique’s men are already preparing to plunge back into a frenetic rhythm. On vacation for nine days, the Parisians return this Tuesday afternoon at 5 p.m. to training in Poissy to launch a busy second part of the season.

In an ideal world, the Spanish coach would have liked to give his men more rest, but the first deadlines of the year 2026 are coming quickly – reception of Paris FC on Sunday for the 17th day of Ligue 1 – and a big program awaits PSG from January with seven matches to be played in 25 days.

With the exception of Achraf Hakimi and Ibrahim Mbaye, currently at the CAN with Morocco and Senegal, the entire Parisian squad is therefore expected this Tuesday on the lawns of the PSG Campus. If Willian Pacho had been released two days before his partners for services rendered since the start of the season, no vacation allowance was granted by Luis Enrique, unlike some of his predecessors a few years ago.

Individualized program during the holidays

Passing through Dubai on Sunday to receive their distinctions at the Globe Soccer Awards, Ousmane Dembélé, Vitinha and Désiré Doué have been invited. Just like Matvey Safonov and Kang-in Lee, injured respectively in the left hand and left thigh during the Intercontinental Cup final won against Flamengo.

All these players were obviously able to clear their minds during this big week off which was nevertheless placed under the sign of physical maintenance. The European champions had received a specific and individualized program from the staff. Workloads and exercises were adapted on a case-by-case basis, depending on the number of matches played since the start of the season, current form and severity of injuries.

This careful monitoring which varied according to needs and arrangements allowed everyone to stay in shape before resuming competition and getting to the heart of the matter on Sunday (9 p.m.) for the first derby against the PFC.
