Filipe Luís renews as coach of Flamengo until December 2027

This Monday, Brazilian coach Filipe Luís renewed his contract as coach of the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, with which he managed to win the Copa Libertadores this season and with which he extends his relationship until December 2027.

The renewal represents the continuity of the long history between Filipe Luís and Flamengo. The former colchonero player defended the Flamengo shirt as a player, and now he does so by directing the team during one of the most successful periods in its history, achieving a Copa Libertadores, a Brasileirao, a Brazilian Cup and the Brazilian Super Cup.

“With the renewal of Filipe Luís, Flamengo reaffirms its conviction in the continuity of the work carried out and will work firmly so that the coming years are marked by even more successes, professional growth and conquests,” says the statement offered by the Rio de Janeiro club.

For his part, the executive director of Flamengo, José Boto, pointed out that the renewal was possible due to the “genuine desire to continue the project” on both sides. “There is a joint will to converge interests and build a balanced and sustainable agreement that complies with the wishes of the coach, but also with the club’s governance policies established by the president,” he added.
