The new year begins for this ÖSV ski team with one Bad news. World champion and Olympic champion Katharina Liensberger had a serious fall during giant slalom training in St. Michael and sustained a knee injury.

The Vorarlberg native underwent surgery on her right knee on Friday. Liensberger will therefore miss the Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina.

In 2021 she became double world champion (slalom, parallel slalom), in 2022 she won Olympic gold (team) and silver in the slalom, and the Vorarlberg native also won at the home World Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm (bronze in the slalom).
