Mbappé does not travel to Saudi Arabia

French striker Kylian Mbappé is the main casualty of Real Madrid for the Spanish Super Cup, a tournament that takes place in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) and that starts for the whites this Thursday, at 8:00 p.m., with the semifinal against Atlético de Madrid.

The merengue club revealed on its website Xabi Alonso’s call for the tournament and Mbappé does not appear in it. The French forward was also not available against Real Betis this Saturday due to his knee injury and was unable to arrive in time to play in the Super Cup in Jeddah.

The Tolosa coach will be able to count on Huijsen. The Spanish international, who missed the resounding league victory against Betis on Sunday (5-1), returned to the group dynamic this Monday after overcoming a muscular overload, and now confirms his recovery by being part of an expedition in which Dani Carvajal and Trent Alexander-Arnold also appear, although their participation in the semi-final will be complicated.

The youth players Fran González, David Jiménez and Thiago Pitarch also travel to Jeddah, and the injured Éder Militao does not. The list is made up of goalkeepers Thibaut Courtois, Andriy Lunin and Fran González; defenders Carvajal, David Alaba, Alexander-Arnold, Raúl Asencio, Álvaro Carreras, Fran García, Antonio Rüdiger, Ferland Mendy, Huijsen and Jiménez; midfielders Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, Fede Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, Arda Güler, Dani Ceballos and Pitarch; and the forwards Vinícius Jr, Rodrygo Goes, Gonzalo García and Franco Mastantuono.
