Biathlon: Suvi Minkkinen sixth in Ruhpolding

A sprint race was held in Ruhpolding.

Finland Suvi Minkkinen finished sixth in the World Cup sprint race in Ruhpolding, Germany on Friday.

Minkkinen never made a mistake at the shooting range, but her skiing speed was not quite enough for the best women. Sweden won the competition Hanna Öberg before France Lou Jeanmonnotia (+7.5) and Italy Lisa Vittozzia (+11,7).

Minkkinen lost 28.5 seconds to Öberg in a distance of 7.5 kilometers.

Minkkinen admitted to Yle that he couldn’t stand his strong initial pace.

“I think I started pretty hard. I already felt in the first round that I was going to make this race difficult for myself,” he said in a TV interview.

The other Finns didn’t fare well. Venla Lehtonen was 52, Inka Hämäläinen 68:s, Noora Kaisa Keränen 75: with me Sonja Leinamo 92:s
