After a lot of trouble on the pit radio, Formula 1 record world champion Lewis Hamilton gets a new race engineer. After numerous arguments with the English superstar that were heard over the team radio, Riccardo Adami (52) was transferred. As Ferrari announced, Sebastian Vettel’s former racing engineer will, among other things, take care of the Scuderia’s junior academy in the future. A successor for the Italian will be announced “in due course”.
Hamilton has had a depressing debut season at Ferrari. The seven-time world champion remained without a podium finish in a Grand Prix year for the first time in his career. The exchange with Adami over the radio repeatedly left the 41-year-old Hamilton frustrated and incomprehensible during the past season. Ferrari will present its new racing car on January 23rd.
