This tennis year there are a total of 19 Masters tournaments on the program, ten for women and nine for men. There are also the four Grand Slam tournaments in Melbourne, Paris, London and New York.
The players are on the large pitches January 18th to November 22nd on the road and come to Germany for seven tournaments – four times the ATP tour and three times the WTA tour.
We give an overview of when which tournament takes place.

Australian Open from January 18th to February 1st in Melbourne (hard court)
Traditionally the season begins in Australia. In the southern hemisphere, the first of the four Grand Slam tournaments will take place in Melbourne in January. The former serial winner Novak Djokovic (ten successes) will make a new attempt to win his 25th Grand Slam title in 2026.

Doha from February 8th to 14th, WTA (hard court)
The women’s competition continues a week after the final of the Australian Open in Doha, Qatar.

Dubai from February 15th to 21st, WTA (hard court)
The WTA tour will then remain in the Middle East. From Doha the entourage travels seamlessly to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

Indian Wells from March 4th to 15th (hard court)
At the beginning of March the men will take part in the first Masters 1000 tournament. They have been playing tennis in Indian Wells in California since 1987, the women since 1989. No woman has been able to defend her title in more than 30 years.

Miami from March 18th to 29th (hard court)
Indian Wells is followed by the next Masters tournament in the USA. In Florida, players can get their hands on the Sunshine Double.

Monte Carlo from April 5th to 12th, ATP (clay)
The first men’s Masters tournament on sand will take place in Monte Carlo against a spectacular backdrop – some of the spectators can look out to sea. Clay court king Rafael Nadal won a whopping eleven titles here.

Madrid from April 21st to May 3rd (Sand)
In Madrid the women will also start on clay in the 1000 category.

Rome from May 5th to 17th (Sand)
The last Masters tournament before the French Open will be played in Rome. Record winner among men Rafael Nadal (10 titles), in the women’s category Gabriela Sabatini, Conchita Martinez and Serena Williams share the place with four successes each.

French Open from May 24th to June 7th in Paris (clay)
The largest clay court tournament in the world takes place in Paris. Around half a million spectators come to the Stade Roland Garros every year for the French Open. Around 15,000 people can fit on the Court Philippe-Chatrier, where Rafael Nadal, who has since retired, won 14 titles.

Wimbledon from June 29th to July 12th in London (grass)
From sand to grass: just three weeks after the second Grand Slam tournament, the third takes place in London. The All England Championships have been held on the hallowed turf of Wimbledon since 1877.

Montreal (ATP) and Toronto (WTA) from August 2nd to 13th (hard court)
Then it’s off to the hard courts – and to North America for the second time. At the end of July the men will play in Montreal and the women in Toronto. Both venues alternate every year.

Cincinnati from August 13th to 24th (hard court)
The last major 1000 tournament before the US Open takes place in Cincinnati. It is one of the oldest tournaments in the world and was first held in 1899. There have been longer breaks for the women since then, but the Western & Southern Open has been an integral part of the calendar since 2004.

US Open from August 30th to September 13th in New York (hard court)
The last Grand Slam tournament of the year takes place in New York. Flushing Meadows is also home to the largest tennis stadium in the world: The Arthur-Ashe-Stadium offers space for 23,771 spectators.

Beijing from September 30th to October 11th, WTA (hard court)
After the US Open, the women have the next major tournament just a week later and fly on to Beijing.

The women stay in China and then head straight to Wuhan.

The only men’s Masters tournament held indoors is in Paris. The last points before the ATP final of the top eight will also be collected in Bercy.

WTA finals in Riyadh from November 7th to 14th (hard court)
The eight best of the year take part in the last major women’s tournament. Unlike usual in the knockout system, the game is played in two groups with four participants each. The top two in each group advance to the semi-finals. The WTA Tour Championships have existed since 1972 and the tournament has taken place at the end of the season since 1986. The record winner is Martina Navratilova with eight titles. 2025 crowned itself Elena Rybakina.

ATP Finals in Turin from November 15th to 22nd (hard court/indoor)
The ATP Finals in Turin end the regular men’s tennis season. As with the women, the eight best of the year will be divided into two groups. The tournament has been held in this form since 1970 – with different names: first as the Masters Grand Prix, then as the ATP World Championship, Tennis Masters Cup, ATP World Tour Finals and even the ATP Finals. 16 different cities have hosted the event, most frequently New York from 1977 to 1989. Jannik Sinner defended his title in Turin last year.
