Sinner, double with Kyrgios or Kim Jong-un? Jannik’s ‘secrets’ (in bed) and the answers

Is a double paired with Nick Kyrgios or Kim Jong-un better? What are Jannik Sinner’s ‘secrets’ in bed? The blue at the 2026 Australian Open faces the most complicated exam, the questions of Pod Laver Arena, the podcast combined with the first Slam tournament. We start with a complicated question. As a doubles partner, would you choose Nick Kyrgios – the Australian who has repeatedly accused Sinner of doping – or North Korean leader Kim Jong-un? “To play tennis, definitely Nick. I don’t want to lose… But to go out, I don’t know…”, the blue laughs.

Then, we move on to simulating a first date with host Lizzy Hoo. “Your outfit for a first date is adorable. I’m also in sweats, if the date is in the afternoon, sweats are fine… Is it early for champagne? It’s never early for champagne.” “Do you sleep with the air conditioner on? If so, it can’t work between us…”, Lizzy Hoo’s pressing. “I don’t sleep with the air conditioner on…”the blue one replies. Which sheets does Sinner use? “Cotton. It’s the best. They say, at least… I don’t know…”.

If it were a first date, could Lizzy pay? “It wouldn’t be appropriate for me, from my point of view. It depends on how many more times we’ll see each other… Maybe the first time we’ll split the bill”, says the blue man trying to get out of the corner. “What is my skincare routine? I don’t have any…”, the answer that ‘ruins’ everything: “This is decisive for me… I don’t feel any vibrations…”. “Let’s just drink, let’s be friends and I’ll pay the bill”, Sinner’s corner save.

Melbourne and special cheering

“I love coming to Melbourne, it’s a special time of the year. Starting the season here is special,” says the world number 2 as he introduces himself in the studio. The conversation is lighter than ordinary interviews. Is there a question Sinner is tired of answering? “How do you feel about coming back here? How was the pre-season? Always the same questions and I always answer the same things,” he confesses. By now, after several appearances in Melbourne, the South Tyrolean should be able to express himself with a genuine Australian accent: “It’s all right mate”, says Sinner with a nasal voice and an accent promoted with flying colors by the hosts.

The reigning champion is one of the crowd favorites at Melbourne Park. Gone are the days when support was linked almost exclusively to the ‘carrota boys’, who colored the stands with their costumes during the favorite’s matches. “The carota boys will be around the world, they could come but I don’t know. It depends on how the tournament goes. I love cheering, seeing so much orange in the stands makes me feel at home”, says Sinner.
