Toulon-Montpellier: the Top 14 meeting postponed due to weather conditions

The meeting of the 15th day of Top 14 between RC Toulon and Montpellier scheduled for Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the Mayol stadium is postponed to Sunday 3:30 p.m., due to weather conditions in the Var, the LNR announced this Saturday, January 24.

Meeting urgently, the competitions committee of the National Rugby League decided to reschedule the meeting for Sunday 3:30 p.m., the weather conditions expected to improve by then according to forecasts, the League announced to AFP.

This decision was taken after the city of Toulon issued an order prohibiting the holding of this match on Saturday, due in particular to the storms forecast for the city.

Heavy rainfall forecast

It “follows the heavy rainfall announced in the city of Toulon this afternoon, likely to be accompanied by electrical activity, presenting a risk for the safety of players, officials and the public”, added RC Toulon in a press release published on its social networks.

“The tickets initially valid for the meeting remain valid for the rescheduled match on Sunday,” specifies the Toulon club, which invites all spectators to “contact the club’s official channels for any additional information.”
