Michael Wiesinger will be the new head of the youth department at FC Bayern Munich. As the Bundesliga soccer team announced, the 53-year-old will be moving from the academy of 1. FC Nürnberg to the campus of the German record champions on May 1st. The former professional replaces Markus Weinzierl, whose contract expires in the summer. Bayern said discussions were underway about his future.
According to 1. FC Nürnberg, Wiesinger will work for the second division club until the end of March. “I had a wonderful time as youth manager in Nuremberg. Now I’m really looking forward to the exciting task of being responsible for talent development at one of the biggest clubs in the world in the future,” said the former midfielder, who played for both Nuremberg and FC Bayern in his career.
