Sassuolo conquers Pisa 3-1: Berardi’s show and the black-green trio

Sassuolo won 3-1 in Pisa, leaving the Tuscans increasingly last in the standings with 14 points. The Emilians were led by a super Berardi who broke the deadlock in the 25th diagonally.

At the end of the half the same Calabrian attacker provoked Caracciolo’s own goal with a low cross. In the second half Pisa closed the gap in the 51st minute with a right-footed shot from the edge of the area by Aebischer but in the 58th minute the neroverdi scored a trio with Koné, assisted by Berardi.

In full recovery the efforts of Grosso’s men were rewarded: Berardi looked for Kone’, but the Canadian was preceded by Antonio Caracciolo who, however, deflected the ball into his own goal. At the start of the second half, Pisa immediately returned to the game thanks to the goal scored in the 51st minute by Michel Aebischer who, supported by Durosinmi, unleashed a powerful right-footed shot into the goal that left Muric no chance. Three minutes later Alberto Gilardino’s team came very close to equalizing with Leris, but Idzes made a providential save off the line. The guests don’t sit back and watch, in fact, they come back with conviction in the offensive area: in the 58th minute Matic passes into the area for Koné, who appears in front of the goalkeeper and scores the 3-1.

In the 65th minute Arena awarded a penalty to the Emilians for a foul by Tramoni on Lauriente’: the intervention of the VAR, however, changed the decision as the contact occurred outside the area. The Tuscans risked capitulating in the 68th minute following Pinamonti’s header which went just over the crossbar. In the 73rd minute Matic comes into his own and attempts a shot from distance, but even in this case he lacks a bit of precision. The home team showed up again in the opposing area with a curling shot from Tramoni, on which yet another intervention from a monumental Idzes was decisive.

In the 80th minute Muric comes out badly and brings down Durosinmi: the goalkeeper risks a big risk, but VAR saves him from being sent off for a previous offside by the attacker. Despite the home team’s final forcing, the black-green team manages the advantage and takes home its second consecutive victory; second defeat in a row for the Nerazzurri, last in the standings.
