Lassi Lappalainen returns to HJK’s shirt

Football club HJK announced on Thursday that the team has signed a two-year contract with the returnee Lassi Lappalainen with.

Lappalainen, 27, played the last seven seasons in the North American MLS series. The winger’s contract with the Columbus Crew ended at the turn of the year, so Lappalainen will join the Helsinki club as a free agent.

Sports director of HJK Petri Vuorinen believes in great success in the Veikkausliiga from the Lappan, who is in his prime as a gambler.

“Lassi brings the qualities we want: a fast winger who is really good in one-on-one situations. He knows the club well from his past and has a lot of experience on international fields. The important thing is that he knows the club culture and understands what club membership means,” Vuorinen says in the press release.

Lapp has been able to show his skills also in the shirt of the A national team. In nine Huuhkajie matches, Lappalainen has one assist point.

In the Veikkausliiga, the Finnish gambler has also represented RoPS in the 2017-2018 seasons.
