Rudi Vikström of FF Jaro is of interest to big clubs because he is an exceptional talent

FF Jaron Rudi Vikström18, is the Veikkausliiga’s most coveted Vonkale. HS reported earlierthat the top player has been followed by KuPS and HJK from home, and at least IFK Göteborg, Djurgården and Hammarby from Sweden’s big clubs. If Vikström moves to another betting league club, the transfer record within the series can be set again.

The interest is not surprising. An equally special Finnish top, the so-called main position player, was last seen in the Veikkausliiga 14 years ago. He was Joel Pohjanpalo.

Like Pohjanpalo, Vikström has the most valuable special quality in football: he is a deadly effective scorer. Vikström has completed his task at a mind-boggling pace in all the series he has played, and the leap to the domestic men’s games does not seem to be a trick or anything.

Goal scorers are the most coveted diamonds in football, whose domestic production has been alarmingly depleted. It has been eerily quiet since the Pohjan fire.

Midfielders have been flocking to Huuhkaji until it was overcrowded. In recent years, wing forwards have also started to surface.

Instead, the previous Finnish goal-scoring special men who broke through in the Veikkausliiga are Pohjanpalo, now 31, Roope Risk34, and Teemu Pukki35. Each of them moved to Europe’s top five series under the age of 20. It says everything about the value of a first-place player who spits out goals at a young age.

They have ruled the top of the Veikkausliiga goal exchange for years Ashley Coffeyn and João Klaussin such as foreign direct procurement as well as experienced Finns such as Tim Väyrynen and Rasmus Karjalainen.

Finnish player education does not produce goal scorers, and betting league clubs do not dare to hand over the critical finishing responsibility for their success to the shoulders of youngsters. Egg or chicken?

Vikström it’s useless to hide on the bench. With his young age and scoring ability, his resale potential is sky high.

In FF Jaro’s reserve team in Kolmose, the three-pointer hit 34 times in 14 games and before that he scored 33 goals in 23 games in the B-boys’ First Division. In the under-19 national team, there are five goals in seven games.

The same trend has continued even in tougher circles.

In last season’s Veikkausliiga, Vikström missed a lot of minutes for reasons that only the head coach can control Niklas Vidjeski know. He still scored on average every 98 minutes in the Veikkausliiga and every 62 minutes in the Finnish Cup. The pace is exceptional.

Although the sample size of hard games is small, the successes have not been by chance.

Vikström’s playing has the same basic idea as young Pohjanpalo or with Mikael Forssell. He knows where and how to score goals. Everything else is secondary. This guides everything Vikström does.

Vikström does not sail all over the field after the ball, as young Finnish strikers often do. He only moves in the middle lane like an NBA center.

Vikström barely passes ten times in the match, but he shoots a lot and accurately towards the goal. He sneakily moves to the dark side of the topper and attacks the centers in a timely manner. When FF Jaro defends, even then Vikström places himself close to the opponent’s goal with possession of the ball in mind. Vikström wants to win balls himself and get to shoot right away.

The Esse IK graduate is a threat from the back with his speed and is skilled at playing with his back to the opponent’s goal. Body control is at a high level, as evidenced by the goal against Iceland last November: centering alongside possession and an acrobatic scissor kick into the net.

There is an un-Finnish self-confidence in the essence. Vikström did not arrive at the Veikkausliiga at the age of 17 for an autograph gig, but took the measure of his opponents like a cockerel with his chest held high.

Huge despite its potential, Vikström’s most important screens are yet to come. The leap from great promise to international level goal scorer is rocky.

The next decision is vital. In FF Jaro, the youngster would be a key player, so one season at home would not be a disaster.

In KuPS or HJK, the risk would be significantly less playing time, even if the series remains the same. A direct transfer to Sweden could be a more reasonable bet than Finland’s top clubs. It would bring a tougher environment and status, perhaps more playing time.

In Sweden, when you understand the resale value of promising players, it is clearly better than in Finland.
