Olympic Games: Millauer is eliminated from the Big Air qualification

The first Austrian to compete at the Winter Games in Livigno narrowly missed out on making it to the final. Clemens Millauer had high hopes for his last one Olympic Games im Big Air to jump to the final.

After the first two jumps, things looked good for the Upper Austrian. He put a backside 1800 (five revolutions) into the Italian snow just as confidently as a switch backside 1620 (four and a half revolutions).

But the high quality of the field of drivers required further improvement in the third round. He had almost completed the third jump when he ended up falling.

Millauer thus completed the Big Air qualification in 18th place and has to watch the final. Start on Sunday (7.30 p.m.). Anna Gasser and Hanna Karrer in the women’s Big Air with the qualification.

Serious training fall

The Japanese won the qualification Hiroto Ogiwara in front of local hero Ian Matteoli and Kira Kimuraalso from Japan.

Strong competitors like Mark Kleveland and Red Gerard seemed like Millauer.

My favorite Mark McMorris fell on his head during training and had to be transported away by the medical team. The Canadian did not start in the Big Air qualification, but gave the all-clear via social media. He expects slopestyle to start in more than a week.
