Freestyle snowboarder Noah Vicktor clearly missed out on making it to the big air final at his second Olympic Games. The 24-year-old fell on his first two attempts in qualifying in Livigno, Italy, before the opening ceremony on Friday. This meant that he no longer had a chance of competing for a medal among the top twelve. His third jump was enough for 63.50 out of a maximum of 100 points – overall this meant 30th and last place.
At his first Winter Games in Beijing in 2022, Vicktor was also unable to qualify for the final in 24th place. Annika Morgan is competing for the German team in the women’s big air competition.
Another Olympic chance for Vicktor in Livigno
For the athletes, Big Air is about showing tricks in the air after jumping over a large ramp and then landing safely. When awarding points, the difficulty, clean execution, height and landing are taken into account, among other things.
Vicktor will also be taking part in its specialty slopestyle discipline at the Winter Games in Milan and Cortina. The qualification takes place on February 16th.
